As special advisor to the European Region of Gastronomy and IGCAT (International Institute of Gastronomy, Arts and Tourism) expert, ARC Managing Director Davinia Galea was part of an international jury, accompanied by IGCAT’s President Diane Dodd, evaluating the application of the Crete region for the title of European Region of Gastronomy 2026.
Since then, the IGCAT Advisory Forum has approved both Crete and Gozo for European Region of Gastronomy 2026.
The Region of Gastronomy Award aims to contribute to a better quality of life by raising awareness about the importance of cultural and food uniqueness, stimulating creativity and gastronomic innovation, educating for better nutrition, improving sustainable tourism standards, highlighting distinctive food cultures, and strengthening community well-being.
