Satellite BEYOND Event, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Highlights from the Satellite BEYOND event, organised by Culture Action Europe in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain on the 21st & 22nd April 2026.
This event brought together satellite hubs from regions across the South West of Europe including Malta, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
Satellite BEYOND events are regional gatherings hosted by CAE members or CAE Geographical Hubs, in collaboration with local institutions or networks. These editions are grounded in principles of decentralisation, proximity, and contextual sensitivity.
ARC Research & Consultancy is an integral part of the Malta hub satellite, co-created with other local organizations: Creative Health Malta, MEIA and Unfinished Art Space.
Managing Director, Davinia Galea, participated in the presentation and open discussion ‘Transforming the cultural ecosystem’, presenting key challenges, structural tensions, and transformative ideas brought forward by the Malta hub satellite. Additionally, acting as the Malta representative in the discussion ‘Taking off the work plan’ where she presented an opinion in Malta’s context on the Key Direction 2 of the EU Commission’s Culture Compass on empowerment of artists and cultural professionals.
